Who is eligible to enroll? > Enroll a child now
- "Any child between the ages of 6 – 16 living in one of our five county service areas (Alameda, Contra Costa, San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties) can enroll in one of our mentoring programs."
- "Once matched, children can remain in the program through the age of 18 or until they graduate from High School, which ever comes later."
- "Enrolled children must want to be matched with a Big Brother or Big Sister. We will not enroll a child based solely on the wishes of a parent or guardian."
- "Every enrolled Parent/Child must agree to participate in periodically issued surveys to rate your match experience. These surveys are critical to our agency’s ability to raise funds and help us to provide services free of charge to enrolled families."

Juma Ventures "Over the past 20 years, Juma has transformed into a national, award-winning youth development program serving more than 1,200 low-income students in six cities. Juma's program combines employment in social enterprises, college preparation, and financial asset building to create a safe, supportive community where low-income youth can achieve their dreams of a college education. Juma helps break the cycle of poverty by ensuring that young people complete a four-year college degree."
"Despite the many challenges facing Juma students, they also possess significant assets. They are resilient, positive and show great determination in the pursuit of their goals, continually demonstrating tremendous promise and success when provided with opportunities to excel. That’s why we’re here: to provide these students with the tools and resources they need to overcome barriers, maximize their personal assets, and successfully transition into a life of higher education and greater success."

Youth Chance High School "Youth Chance offers a healthy and supportive learning environment where students that have not succeeded in traditional schools, can reach their full potential."
"Each year, principals, parole officers, counselors, teachers, parents and program alumni refer students who need a fresh start to the safe, supportive environment at Youth Chance High School. The students come from very low-income families and more than half have been in the juvenile justice system and/or foster care system. At Youth Chance, these high-risk inner-city youth earn a diploma while gaining academic, vocational and life skills necessary to become self-sufficient, socially responsible young adults. Given the multiple challenges these students face, earning a high school diploma is a monumental achievement."
"Serves: San Francisco teens, ages 25-40 students
Hours: Mon–Fri, 9am–1pm
Demographics: 35% Hispanic, 30% African American, 20% Asian & Pacific Islander, 7% Caucasian, 5% Native American, 3% other. 95% are very low income, 50% of the female students have been or are pregnant."
